Just want to say, thank you for this blog - you saved me potentially embarrassing myself and screwing up what would have been a very important tattoo for me. One question, though - what's your thoughts on pure impulse tats? I have one which I pretty much decided on the moment I walked into the shop, and it's now over three years old and I bloody *love* it. But a lot of people have given me stick for it - "You'll regret that impulse one day" - even though it's a well done tat that means a lot.
There really isn’t any set “time” you should want a tattoo for. Usually when someone hasn’t gotten any they feel like you should wait a year or some long, pre-set period of time. But after a certain point, you’re pretty much covered and a lot of people, including myself, put less stock into the individual importantness of each tattoo—the point is just to get tattoos and get covered. I know tattoo artists with joke tattoos, and tons of filler that’s just good looking without meaning.
So if you got an impulse tattoo, it’s really based on your own relationship with tattooing. If you like it, then you’re all set. Remember: haters will always tell you you’ll regret your tattoos, no matter what the reason!
Uhm, I really hate to be annoying, but, uhm, we're less than a week from two months since the last critique. Any idea when a new one will be coming? I hope all is well with you and that you have a nice day. :)
Yeah, I know, I know… they just take up so much of my time (seriously, like 5+hrs a week) that it’s been hard to justify getting on Tumblr and doing them all when I have clients that are waiting on work, a dog demanding to be walked, groceries to buy, dishes to clean…
Being an adult blows.
But ya’ll should keep bugging me.
Soon I swear.
Hit me up! I’m looking for new friends to do a ton of races with this year in the New York / New England area and would loooove to be your friend!
@newgirlconnelly and I met this way and now we’re like BFF. Come hang out with us!
